School of Nursing

Our nation needs nurses. Now is a great time to become a registered nurse or elevate your nursing career with a degree or certificate from the University of Central Missouri’s School of Nursing. Our graduates are well-prepared for secure positions in all types of health care institutions.

UCM offers affordable Nursing programs in which motivated students learn from dedicated practicing nurses. Your instructors spend the time to make sure you fully understand the hows and whys of each part of nursing. At UCM, you’ll become a caring, competent and mindful practitioner, ready to serve rural or urban communities that urgently need your skills.

Your next step in nursing:

  • BSN: With options for pre-licensure or registered nurses to get a bachelor’s degree, the School of Nursing at UCM prepares graduates to work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care, public health and many other settings.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Become a valued primary care practitioner trained in providing family-focused care.
  • Nursing Education: Educate patients in a clinical setting or aspiring nurses in an academic nursing program with this specialty.

The nursing program at the University of Central Missouri is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, 573-781-0681.

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Nursing is to prepare nurse leaders for general and advanced nursing practice. The School of Nursing is committed to achieving academic goals through application of nursing reasoning, integration of professional nursing values, collaboration with all members of the health care team, and the improvement of quality in a health information intensive environment.
