Sean Edinger

Strength & Conditioning Coach / Equipment Manager

 

 

 

Sean Edinger begins his first season as the strength and conditioning coach and equipment manager for the athletic department at Central Missouri.

He oversees the strength and conditioning program for all 16 of UCM’s athletic programs, and brings a wealth of experience.

Most recently, he was the head strength coach at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan., where he designed a year-round training program for the football and volleyball teams.

From 2006-08, he worked at the University of Missouri, where he was in charge of the strength program for both volleyball and tennis. He also assisted with all aspects of the Tigers football strength program, including professional player development, and Combine/Pro day preparation.

He served as a personal trainer at the Lawrence Athletic Club from 2000-06 and has done an internship with Peak Performance Chiropractic as well. Edinger is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and coach by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a certified club coach by USA Weightlifting.

He was also a member of the United State National Karate Team from 1995-2000. Edinger has 24 years of martial arts experience and 18 years coaching martial arts and boxing.  

He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Kansas in exercise science in 2006, and his masters in health education and promotion/sports psychology from the University of Missouri in 2008.
