Mules open season with win number 1500 in program history

Mules opened their 2009-2010 regular season Tuesday night with a historic victory, number 1500 in the program history, an 86-51 triumph over Westminster College at the UCM Multipurpose Building.

Sanijay Watts led the way for the Mules posting game-highs in points (21) and rebounds with seven. Bryce Brunz came off the bench to hit five three-point field goals to finish with 15 points.

The Mules, ranked fifth in the NABC Preseason Poll, return to action Saturday night as they host Benedictine College. Alex Moosman and the Mules will make a return trip to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., in November.

The Mules and head coach Kim Anderson’s 09-10 schedule is highlighted in non-conference action by a return trip to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., for a battle with the Rockhurst Hawks. The two teams will have a re-match of last season's game on Tuesday afternoon, November 24th....More Info »

Other highlights of the Mules 09-10 schedule includes the annual Las Vegas High Desert Classic on December 18-19, where they will play national power Rollins (Fla.) and fellow 2009 NCAA Elite Eight participant C.W. Post (N.Y.). In the exhibition slate, the Mules will face Division I Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee on Nov. 7th, and host Livin' the Dream on Nov. 11th. Mules rank third nationally in home attendance

A "Black-Out Saturday" crowd of 5,378 that witnessed the Mules run past Northwest Missouri State on national TV (Feb. 21), helped to bolster the Mules average home attendance to 2,982, ranking third best in D-II for the 2008-2009 season.

The Mules averaged just under 3,000 fans per home game in 17 dates, with home crowds of over 4,000 on four other different dates, and topped 3,000 on three other home dates.
