development opportunities.
- Graduate assistantships: Sharpen or build new skills when you fulfill a graduate assistantship while completing
your master’s degree in English. As a graduate assistant, you’ll lead undergraduate
English courses and guide students in literary analysis while you earn financial benefits.

Meet Our Faculty
Dr. Miriam Fuller
Professor Fuller is a medievalist with sub-specialties in medieval romance and medieval
gender and writing. Topics of her published articles range from damsels-in-waiting
in medieval romance and Joan of Arc and Margery Kempe biographies to Jane Austen’s
novels, which reflect her interest in the tradition of British women writers. Dr.
Fuller is also a faculty member in UCM’s Women, Gender and Sexuality program.
Meet Our Faculty
Dr. Darlena Ciraulo
Dr. Ciraulo specializes in early modern British literature, particularly Shakespeare.
Her research includes Shakespearean appropriations, as well as Shakespeare and popular
culture. She has taught a range of courses on Shakespeare’s dramatic and non-dramatic
works and often explores their adaptations and interpretations to address critical
issues such as race, disability, gender and identity.
