What you will study

UCM’s Art minor has a few core classes, but most will reflect your individual interests and goals. You can choose to emphasize graphic design, interior design, art education, studio art, illustration, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, painting or photography within the minor.

Some of the coursework for your minor in Art may include:

• Foundations: A requirement for Art majors as well as minors, this set of classes provides grounding in the use of visual elements within the context of the principles of design. 
• Global Arts and Culture: Humans have created art in every culture for as long as there have been human cultures. Gain a better understanding of this universal language and how art is perceived around the world.
