Communication minors at the University of Central Missouri can customize this undergraduate program to complement their major, whether you’re studying Advertising, Events Management, Human Resources Management, Media Production, Public Relations or another field.

The core courses for the Communication minor cover a broad range of topics:

• Communication in small groups/teams
• Interpersonal communication
• Public speaking or communication in practice
• Introduction to communication theory or introduction to organizational communication

Communication minors can gain valuable experience by joining the Communication Studies Ambassador Group, which promotes our programs around campus and strives to enhance UCM’s Communication program for today’s and tomorrow’s students. 
• Specialized research: Partner with faculty members by assisting with a research project.
• Interactive Courses: Our Communication faculty are dedicated to linking the concepts learned in class to real-world experiences, engaging in small group activities and focusing on how technology impacts these concepts. 
• Internships: Take your Communication minor further and gain experience that will attract employers’ attention. Our undergraduate students have pursued internships in positions that span a wide variety of industries.
