Unique learning opportunities in robotics and automation
Gain the technical knowledge and analytical skills you need to design, build and manage
the movements and actions of robots and automation systems. At the University of Central
Missouri, you’ll put your learning into action through:
- Internships: Completing an internship as part of your Robotics and Automation certificate can be
the first step toward a job offer. Some of our students have recently pursued internships
with ACI and Accent Controls, among other leading employers in the Kansas City area.
- Student organizations: UCM has more than 185 clubs and organizations, so you’ll find dozens of ways to get
involved outside of the classroom and put your learning into action. Students in UCM’s
Robotics and Automation undergraduate certificate program frequently join our on-campus
chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, where you’ll be able to network
with industry professionals and have opportunities to get an up-close look at facilities
during tours of regional companies.
- NASA Human Rover Challenge: Each year, UCM students design and fabricate a human-powered vehicle that is created
to traverse simulated lunar and Martian terrain. Our undergraduate students say this
is one of the most exciting ways to put their learning into action.
