The University of Central Missouri's Bank Teller Development program provides students with the skills needed to work in the fast-paced, challenging and evolving world of banking. You will be prepared for entry-level positions in banking, learning everything from customer service to processing transactions to bank security. Entry-level tellers can advance in their career to become senior tellers, teller supervisors, potentially moving into specialized fields such as commercial customers, fraud prevention, loans or mortgage processing. Through this program, students earn an industry-recognized certificate and continuing education units which may not be applied to a degree program and are not eligible for federal financial aid.

Successful graduates of this comprehensive program will earn the Bank Teller Certificate from American Bankers Association. Course participants will be prepared to work in a retail bank environment where they will receive additional employer-specific on-the-job training. Bank tellers provide customer service in a team environment with tellers greeting customers, processing transactions, helping customers manage finances and recommending financial services. According to the US Department of Labor, median pay for bank tellers is approximately $27,500 annually.
