The University of Central Missouri will join in the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance in honor of those individuals who lost their lives in the 9/11 tragedy. The campus observance begins at noon Wednesday, September 11 at the quadrangle, and everyone who is interested is invited.
This year's ceremony is being jointly coordinated by UCM's Office of Military and Veteran Services, with Scott Ammon, assistant professor of safety sciences, and the university's Army ROTC battalion.
University President Charles Ambrose will make remarks followed by keynote speaker Brig. General Thomas A. Bussiere, commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base.
In the event of inclement weather the ceremony will be held in Hendricks Hall.
