The UCM College of Education is committed to supporting the education of all students in the rural schools of Missouri. One of our priorities is supporting and aiding our rural partners in their efforts to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers. We are committeed to helping them improve the educational environment and supporting sound instructional practices.
The UCM College of Education offers a pathway program that has been specifically designed to help current paraprofessionals continue to work the classrooms while attending courses toward their degrees and educator certification. More information about that program can be found on the Paraprofessionals Degree Pathways page.
Students can work toward their undergraduate degree while still in high school by taking dual credit courses that can be applied toward both high school and college course credit. More information can be found on the Dual Credit page.
We will meet in the Hough Education Center in Lovinger 2600 on the UCM Warrensburg campus.
The fall summit will have a slightly different format as we will be inviting current pre-service teachers (undergraduate education students) to join us during lunch. At this time, we will host a short, informal panel discussion allowing students to learn more about the great things rural schools can offer.
We encourage you to wear your favorite school shirt and bring district information to share with students (i.e., brochure, informational sheet, business cards). You are welcome to bring giveaway items to share with students as well. We will be inviting over 50 students.
If you are unable to attend, you may invite a district representative to join us in your place.
This is a hard deadline to allow staff the necessary time for sending confirmations and preparing materials in a timely manner.
