Julie Lewis, EdD, teaches courses related to journalism, mass communication, strategic communication, media, and multimedia at the University of Central Missouri (UCM). In addition to teaching core courses, she has the expertise required to teach courses connected to study abroad programs, journalism education, and advises the institution’s student newspaper, The Muleskinner. Lewis has earned Adviser of the Year award from the Missouri College Media Association and the College Media Association honored her as an Honor Roll Recipient for her work with UCM's student news outlet. Her research interests include journalism education that strategically offers unique leadership and policy development using primarily qualitative methods. She earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Missouri. She is a two time alumna of UCM where she earned an MA in Communication and an MA in Teaching. She returned to the University of Missouri to earn her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis.
