Popov holds an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Defense Staff Military Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. His professional interests include safety, environmental protection, risk assessment, toxicology, analytical chemistry, chromatography, mass spectrometry.
