UCM Accessibility Notice and Procedures


The Office of Accessibility Services provides persons with disabilities equal access to the functions and facilities of the University of Central Missouri. Concerns regarding access to the campus and campus activities should be directed to Cathy Seeley, Director of Accessibility Services, at cseeley@ucmo.edu

 

Accommodations for Students

Parking

Accessibility

UCM's campus is accessible for students, employees, and visitors with disabilities, including the following: assistive listening devices in major auditoriums and classrooms; sign language interpreting services; lifts in the Multi-Purpose swimming pool; power doors, elevators and accessible restrooms; ramps, curb cuts, and accessible parking; and accessible rooms in campus housing.

An individual who encounters an accessibility issue related to University facilities should contact the Office of Accessibility Services. Please be prepared to provide information about the accessibility issue, including information about the physical location of the reported accessibility issue. An individual who encounters an accessibility issue with our website should also contact the Office of Accessibility Services and provide a description of the page creating the barrier and the accessibility issue.

The University provides accessibility to campus community members and visitors accessing the campus for various events such as athletic events, speakers, or artistic performances. For information on ticketing, accessible seating, assistive listening devices, or parking, contact the Office of Accessibility Services. Notice of 72 hours is requested for programs, events, and general services.

 

Library Services

The University libraries are committed to providing access to information, resources, and services to all library users on an equal basis. Contact the Manager of the Harmon Computer Commons at the Kirkpatrick Library or the Office of Accessibility Services for any related inquiries.

Event Planning

The planning of any campus event should include preparation for students, employees, and visitors with disabilities that may attend. Please contact the Office of Accessibility Services for assistance in planning campus events. Events should be scheduled in an accessible space and event organizers should include an accessibility notice and contact information for the Office of Accessibility Services in event announcements.
