As a participating SARA institution that offers programs leading to professional licensure,
we are required to notify you, upon admission and each semester, about state licensing
requirements. Through reciprocity agreements and state compacts, UCM MEETS the educational requirements
for all states except Arkansas, New York, South Dakota, Virginia, and Wisconsin. For
specific state requirements, please contact the state agencies listed below.
Note Many of the UCM Teacher Preparation programs are nationally and state accredited, and as such, earning your initial teaching certificate with Missouri may make getting your out-of-state license easier. If you obtain a current Missouri license, some states may provide a temporary license while you complete any additional requirements.
Below is a listing of states that UCM does not meet the education requirements for.
If you choose to study at UCM and seek initial certification in other state, it is your responsibility to determine if there are additional requirements or courses needed to receive your certification.
