Classes, Books, and Deadlines

  • Validate your enrollment in each class by attending the first day of all face-to-face classes and by clicking the Enrollment Validation box in Blackboard for all online/hybrid classes.
    • If you can't attend class on the first day, you MUST contact EACH class instructor BEFORE the first day to tell them you still want to be in their class. The names of your instructors are on your class schedule, and their contact information can be found in your course Blackboard pages or the Campus Directory.
    • Students are responsible for ensuring their enrollments/disenrollment from classes.  If you fail to drop a class that you do not want, you are still financially responsible for the class and the grade earned.  Do not assume that you will be dropped for non-attendance.
  • Check your class schedule in MyCentral (not Blackboard): MyCentral shows the official record of your enrollment. If you need to add or drop classes be sure to do so before the 100% refund period ends.  Undergraduate students can get assistance from their Success Advisor and graduate students from their faculty advisor.
  • Buy or rent textbooks at the University Bookstore.  A UCM ID card/Mobile Mule card and a course materials list are needed. For more information about textbooks and acquiring your course materials list CLICK HERE
  • Dates and Deadlines: Review them so you know refund periods, when you can sign up for classes, deadlines to drop a class, when your finals are, and more.  You can find the 2024-25 Academic Calendar here.

    • Year 1 College Behavior Profile: assigned only to new first-time/first-year undergraduate students 23 and under, this is a pre-matriculation course (it closes when classes start) so take this one as soon as you can.
    • engage: assigned to all new students, this is an overview of UCM's harm prevention program.
    • Alcohol and Other Drugs: substance use education course assigned to new undergraduate students 23 and under.
    • Ask. Listen. Refer.: suicide prevention course assigned to all new students.
    • Sexual Violence Prevention: assigned to all new students. NOTE: completion of this course is required to enroll in Spring 2025 classes.
  • To protect the health of our campus community, UCM is a tobacco-free campus.
  • In compliance with federal regulations, cannabis (marijuana) is not allowed on campus in any form, for any reason; this applies to those who have a medical marijuana card, and to all related paraphernalia.  Read our Cannabis Q&A page for more information.
