“Why I Choose UCM” Scholarship Essay Contest

When it comes to choosing a university, students want a place that will support them and provide them with the best opportunities. That’s why thousands of students have chosen UCM for nearly 150 years.

Whether you are choosing UCM because of our affordable tuition, our 150+ academic programs, our beautiful, award-winning campus, or because someone in your family went here, we want to hear YOUR reasons for becoming a Mule. In return, you’ll be entered to win one of three one-time scholarships!

The Details

• Students must be new, incoming undergraduates.
• Write a 500-word essay about why you are choosing UCM.
• Begin your essay with, “I choose UCM because…”
• Submit your essay via the form on this page or email to crlang@ucmo.edu by the July 1, 2020 deadline.

It’s as easy as that! If your essay is chosen, you will be contacted by Aug. 1, 2020 via the email address from which you submitted your entry.

The Scholarships*

• First place: $1,000 scholarship
• Second place: $500 scholarship
• Third place: $250 scholarship
