General Description of the Red & Black Scholarships (all levels)
UCM’s signature Red and Black Scholarship provides students with more money so they can focus on their future and graduate with less debt. This automatic, merit-based scholarship can be combined with other scholarships and is guaranteed* – if you qualify, you receive it! (Please note below that the top tier Red & Black Scholarship covers tuition and general fees minus any federal, state, or other institutional gift aid, but students are guaranteed a minimum $4,500 for that scholarship). The higher your GPA and official ACT composite score (or Superscore, whichever is higher), the more money you will be eligible to receive. You can earn anywhere from $1,000 up to full tuition and fees. Use the chart below to calculate your potential scholarship amount.
Because UCM is test-optional, you can still receive the Red and Black Scholarship even if you haven’t taken the ACT, depending on your cumulative, official high-school transcript GPA (6th, 7th or 8th semester, whichever is higher).
*While the Red & Black Scholarship is guaranteed to students who qualify, there will be situations where it could be reduced or removed due to federal regulations to avoid over-awards.
