Types of Assistantships

There are six types of assistantships available at UCM: teaching, lab, research, administrative, student affairs, and athletics. As a Graduate Assistant, you are making a significant commitment to the University of Central Missouri by agreeing to achieve exceptional academic performance in your degree program and carry extensive professional responsibilities.

Teaching teach lower level undergraduate classes or assist an instructor with teaching classes with a large enrollment

 

Laboratory conduct laboratory activities or music studio classes, and work in the library

 

Research aid faculty members in research activities

 

Administrative work in administrative offices such as Graduate Education and Research or Academic Advising

 

Student Affairs assume responsibilities in various student service offices or areas, including the Elliott Union and Residence Halls

 

Athletics- works with the athletic departments, assist coaching athletic teams
