Jenn Mullins telecommutes to UCM from the west coast of Michigan, where her family put down roots after her husband retired from 24 years in the Air Force. She began teaching full-time for UCM in 2012 after moving from Anchorage, Alaska where she spent four years as the Community & Technical College at the University of Alaska Anchorage's Communication Coordinator. Her work included working with the media, designing and printing publications, webmaster of the college's immense website and planning events for the college's 14 divisions.
She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she also taught as an adjunct. Her research focus is in two areas: the forms and quality of communication in military families; and quality of communication for the disabled. As a military spouse and parent of a special needs child, she has developed a passion for helping others understand the needs of these two populations.
Jenn is highly experienced in high impact technologically-enabled classroom experiences that lets her "come into" the classroom in real time with students, while also facilitating instruction and student learning through one-top-one interaction. She specialized in writing and design courses.
