Derrick Gill

Introduction

Derrick Gill is the Internship Coordinator for the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, including the Sport Management Department. He started working full-time at UCM in 2019 and started working with UCM Sport Management students in 2020. Before working as the Harmon College Internship Office Coordinator, he worked for Townsquare Media doing events, radio production, media sales, and more. Some of the sports advertising he did with Townsquare Media included selling broadcasting sports for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, college athletics, and local high school games. In his free time, Derrick likes to spend time with his family, travel, and watch superhero movies. He is also a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Lakers.

Sport Management Internship and Events 

Derrick has helped students get internships with organizations including the Royals, Chiefs, Mavericks, Sporting KC, Monarchs, KC Current, a variety of parks and recreation departments, collegiate athletic departments, and more. Derrick also puts together a Spot Management Employer panel each semester and other events like internship fairs, etiquette dinners, and employer site visits.
