Benefits Information

The University of Central Missouri offers a comprehensive employee benefits program to assist in the maintenance of the well-being of employees and their families. 

Benefits and the employees’ right to them are subject to certain laws and university regulations, individual plan documents and the notice of employee benefits limitations election form. Additional information is provided in the Staff Employee Handbook, the Staff Personnel Policies and Procedures manual and the individual plan booklets and brochures.  The university reserves the right to either change, modify or terminate these benefits at any time.

Health, dental, and vision insurance, prescription drug care, “A Healthier You” wellness lifestyle, and an Employee Assistance Program are available to regular full-time and part-time employees as well as their dependents. Coverage is effective on the first day of the month after starting employment and eligible dependents can be enrolled within 31 days of hire.

In addition to UCM providing full-time employees basic life insurance coverage at no cost, AD & D, short- and long-term disability benefits are also available.  All employees may utilize flex spending accounts, workers’ compensation, educational assistance (employees and their dependents), participate in the Missouri Saving for Tuition Program, purchase AFLAC supplemental insurance, and enjoy discounts just for UCM employees.

Eligible employees enjoy generous Vacation and Holiday Pay, FMLA, Sick Leave, Crisis Leave, Personal Leave, and Bereavement Leave.  UCM strives to offer options to help balance work and personal needs.

Retirement

Retirement

Regular full-time and part-time employees are automatically enrolled in the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System – MOSERS while full-time faculty members (hired on or after July 1, 2002) are automatically enrolled in the College and University Retirement Plan (unless they have prior MOSERS credit).  All regular employees may also voluntarily participate in a Tax-Sheltered Annuity program.

The information below is intended for UCM employees covered by the Missouri State Employee's Retirement System. We have provided helpful links for those who are thinking about retirement and for those who have already retired from UCM. You may direct additional questions to the Office of Human Resources. Our office is located in the Administration Building, Room 101, and we can be reached at 660-543-4255. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Summer Hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
