What is the MIC Program?Missouri Innovation Campus brochure

The MIC program is a partnership between the University of Central Missouri, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, Metropolitan Community College, and more than 70 Kansas City area businesses. It provides motivated students with career-ready skills and the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree two years after high school graduation, and with little to no debt. MIC students have access to state of the art facilities at The Missouri Innovation Campus, which opened its doors in 2017, and it is reshaping the way students experience education and innovation.

A Degree in Less Time Department of Labor seal

Beginning their junior year of high school, students in the MIC program take specific college level classes from UCM and Metropolitan Community College alongside their high school classes. This means upon graduation from high school, students will not only have their diplomas, but an associate’s degree in two of the seven MIC Programs.
Best of all, after high school graduation, MIC students are on an accelerated pathway to complete a bachelor’s degree from UCM in only two years, allowing them to enter the workforce and start their career sooner.

testimonial

“The MIC program has given me a step up and allowed me to get years ahead in my life. All of the teachers and mentors I have met through the program have a real devotion to teaching and were able to push me into becoming a better and smarter young professional. The program’s courses and internship have prepared me to be successful in my new job as a security analyst. I have learned many lessons along the way and have made life long friends. I would recommend the MIC program to anyone who is ready to push themselves and gain an early start on their professional career. ”
