University of Central Missouri employees are among 20 indvidiuals under age 40 who
are recognized in a publication produced by the Warrensburg Star-Journal to celebrate
outstanding young people in this area.
WARRENSBURG, MO – The contributions five University of Central Missouri employees
have made to their community through their work and service were celebrated in the
2023 edition of “20 Under 40,” a special section in the Warrensburg Star-Journal,
a community newspaper serving readers throughout Johnson County, Missouri.
Released on Oct. 20 in print and online, this is the third consecutive year the Star-Journal
has published this special section as a way to honor young people who contribute to
the county in many ways. Twenty individuals who are under age 40 are recognized for
their efforts in areas that include business, education, civic involvement and community
service. Selections were made on the basis of nominations from the community and the
Star-Journal staff. Members of the publication’s newsroom narrowed the field of nominees
to create a publication chock full of stories about young adults who are helping to
create a bright future for this area.
UCM employees who were recognized include individuals who have multiple professional
responsibilities at businesses or organizations off campus. University honorees are
Tyler Habiger, director of annual giving at the UCM Alumni Foundation; Joe Jennings,
administrative sergeant at the UCM Department of Public Safety; Rebekah Mauschbaugh,
communication and events library assistant at UCM and co-owner of Lamplight Bookstore
in Warrensburg; Courtney Swoboda, director of Military and Veteran Services; and Lindsay
Tegtmeier, an adjunct professor at UCM who also serves as an agent at State Farm.
Individuals who want to learn more about these “20 Under 40” honorees and other area
