April 01, 2022While showcasing artistic expression in many forms, members of the University of Central Missouri and the Warrensburg community came together Jan. 18 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr during the Freedom Scholarship Fundraiser at UCM’s Elliott Student Union. The theme for the evening event in the Sandra Temple Elliott Ballroom was titled “Living the Dream: Live and in Color,” utilizing a new format while pursuing giving opportunities to help fund scholarships for students to attend UCM.
January 19, 2022The University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce that alumnus Greg Thurman, ’74, and his wife, Carla Thurman, of Franklin, Tennessee, have made a generous gift to the university. The gift of $1 million will fund the renovation of a gymnasium in the 53-year-old Lovinger Building into a state-of-the-art mixed-use educational facility.
January 10, 2022Having been cast in film and television roles that include two hit CBS sitcoms, actor Brian Thomas Smith has a profound appreciation for the role his University of Central Missouri education played in his journey. As UCM engages in Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30, Smith will partner with his alma mater by hosting a student-led Zoom conversation the following day with individuals who support this annual fundraising event through their financial gifts.
