Student, Faculty Research Leads to Joint Publication in Materials Letters

As a first-generation student from Independence, Anthony Fatino whetted his appetite for scientific research early in his undergraduate studies working collaboratively with chemistry faculty members at the University of Central Missouri. As he continues to fulfill this passion five years later, he is watching the fruit of his early college experiences pay off with a research article published in the scientific journal, “Materials Letters.” This is happening as his UCM co-authors and mentors continue to press on furthering study of a new way to detect metal ions in aqueous solution.

UCM's Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science Considered a "Best Value"

Through its Actuarial Science and Statistics Program, the University of Central Missouri has been graduating students for decades who are qualified to meet the growing demand for these skilled professionals. Such dedication to this field most recently earned UCM recognition for having one of the Top 50 Best Value Bachelor of Actuarial Science Programs in 2018 by Value Colleges. UCM’s actuarial program was ranked 37th in the nation.

Board Approves Healthcare Insurance Rates

While continuing to keep costs as low as possible and provide quality coverage, the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors approved accepting a zero percent rate change in one of the employee healthcare insurance plan options and a 1.83 percent rate increase in the remaining two options from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City for the 2019 benefit year.
