Chavez Scholarship Recipients Honored by UCM Share Thoughts on Value of Higher Education
As a way to celebrate the legacy of a great civil rights leader and the relationship between the University of Central Missouri and members of the Hispanic and Latino communities in the Kansas City metropolitan area, UCM honored 2021 and 2020 student recipients of Cesar E. Chavez Scholarships during the fall 2021 semester. Kansas City area students who want to further their education through this scholarship are being encouraged to apply for 2022 awards by Feb. 1.

While providing an outstanding learning opportunity for University of Central Missouri students, the Student Managed Investment Fund recently grew to more than $1 million under management. This doubled the amount initially committed by the UCM Alumni Foundation in 2013 to create the SMIF in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies.

A collaborative agreement between the University of Central Missouri and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law makes it possible for UCM students to complete a law degree approximately one year faster and at less cost than a traditional pathway.
