Amos Receives 2023 Governor's Award for Excellence in Education

Amos, Ed.D., a University of Central Missouri faculty member who colleagues praise for her impeccable work ethic and high level of dedication to students’ success and well-being, has received the 2023 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education. She was honored on March 23 by the university’s Board of Governors.

UCM OVATION Performance Series Opens 2023 Season with Tap Dancers Ana Tomioshi and Gerson Lanza

he University of Central Missouri OVATION Performance Series opens its 2023 season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 with “Swing Into Spring” - a show featuring nationally renowned tap dancers Ana Tomioshi and Gerson Lanza performing with jazz pianist James Fernando. They will be joined for the performance in Hendricks Hall by musicians from UCM Music featuring interactive and improvisational choreography of African inspired tap dance and jazz music.

University of Central Missouri marketing students competed against some of the top students and teams in their academic discipline this month through the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) March 3-6. It is hosted by Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, and is considered the largest and most competitive sales competition in the nation.

Acadeum is a national organization that has established a student-centered course-sharing model in collaboration with approximately 460 higher education institutions to help individuals seeking a degree or credential.

UCM Students Capture Third Place in Kansas City Fed Code-A-Thon

A three-member team of students from the University of Central Missouri won third place in the seventh annual Kansas City Fed Code-A-Thon. Awards were presented on March 10. This highlighted competitive efforts that began with a two-day virtual event Feb. 23-24 in which the team was charged with developing software solutions to solve meaningful real-life problems, followed by a presentation on Feb. 26 to demonstrate their solution.
