November 29, 2022The Warrensburg community will welcome thousands of visitors Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10 as the University of Central Missouri hosts 2022 Fall Commencement exercises in the Multipurpose Building. The celebration will bring families, friends and students together for three ceremonies honoring more than 1,500 individuals who have met undergraduate and graduate degree requirements and are eligible to participate. November 29, 2022Miaozong Wu, Ph.D., CSP, ARM, program coordinator of the Master of Science in Occupational Safety Management, and an associate professor at the University of Central Missouri, was recently awarded an $85,000 grant from the United States Department of Labor (DOL). Made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, this grant funds one of 14 projects from different organizations nationwide that were selected by the DOL and funded through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Susan Harwood Training Grant program.

The two programs – Cybersecurity and Software Development – are the first MIC programs to earn this designation.
November 17, 2022Having dedicated 40 years to public television at the University of Central Missouri, KMOS-TV staff member Michael O’Keefe was honored as the Public Television Station Programming Association’s (PTPA) Programmer of the Year. The UCM alumnus who serves as the KMOS program director was recognized in a ceremony Nov. 14 in Naples, Florida.

Giving Tuesday opens these festivities, followed by the Holiday Market, two evenings dedicated to the First Lady’s Holiday Concert Series, and a performance by the UCM Jazz Ensemble. All events are free and open to the public.

A matinee is planned for and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

This three-year financial award includes collaboration with faculty members at three other institutions in the United States and abroad.
