Nursing School Chair Nic Webb Named to AASCU Emerging Leaders Program

Nic Webb, DNP, an associate professor and chair of the University of Central Missouri School of Nursing, has been named to a new cohort of higher education professionals across the nation who are participating in the 2022 Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Webb, who travels to the nation’s capital June 15-17 to participate in the program, is one of 36 individuals who are part of this a premier leadership development initiative established by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

Their timely new publication, “Keys to Healthy Communication: Authenticity, Empathy and Empowerment,” provides a literary tool-kit that applies to personal, interpersonal, business and political situations, while offering practical guidance for the effective use of three essential communication concepts that could help people transform their lives.

Mees Outstanding Professional Staff Award and Gwena Basinger, administrative assistant to the dean in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, was presented the Outstanding Staff Award.

UCM Theatre and Dance Presents Scholarships and Awards, Announces 2022-23 Performance Schedule

University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance recognized a number of its students and faculty through its annual awards and scholarship dinner during the spring semester on the stage at the James L. Highlander Theatre. UCM’s Theta Alpha Phi, National Theatre Honorary Fraternity hosted the banquet with nearly 90 faculty, students, and guests attending the event which took place for the first time since 2019, and featured the presentation of 46 scholarships worth $40,000 awarded.
