The Division of Music at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) School of Visual and Performing Arts has announced several events for the Fall 2024 season.
August 22, 2024Colorful lights, music, holiday treats, shopping and more await members of the University of Central Missouri community when the university hosts the annual Holiday Market, Jingle on the Quad, First Lady’s Holiday Concert and other special events Nov. 29-30. All of these activities are free and open to the public.
November 17, 2023A classic family-friendly tale comes to life as the University of Central Missouri’s Theatre and Dance and Music programs present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” in the James L. Highlander Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 12.

OVATION is a curated selection of world-class dancers, musicians, and theatre performers who bring exceptional high-energy artistry to West-Central Missouri.
October 16, 2023Dr. Alan Wenger, University of Central Missouri professor of trumpet, will present a faculty recital at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg. The program, titled “Portraits and Prose: Musical Depictions for Trumpet and Organ,” will feature works for trumpet and organ that depict events, visual art, or or literature. Dr. Wenger will be joined by guest organist Dr. Donna Hetrick and UCM Professor of Voice Dr. Jacob Sentgeorge.

OVATION is a curated selection of world-class dancers, musicians, and theatre performers who bring exceptional high-energy artistry to West-Central Missouri. The series opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 with a performance by the Adam Larson Jazz Quintet in Hart Recital Hall. October brings the SOLI Chamber Ensemble to Warrensburg.
September 12, 2023The 2023 UCM Summer Music Camp and Piano Institute will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Piano Institute with three recitals, including a solo concert by UCM Distinguished Alumna Carolyn True.
June 08, 2023The University of Central Missouri OVATION Performance Series closes its 2023 season with the Charged Particles Jazz Ensemble at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21 in UCM’s Hart Recital Hall, located in the Utt Music Building. The public is invited to this free performance, and no tickets are required.
April 18, 2023A concert by solo percussion artist Dr. Yun-Ju Pan is planned for 7 p.m. Monday, April 17 in Hart Recital Hall. This free event is part of the UCM OVATION Performance Series.
April 14, 2023University of Central Missouri (UCM) Theatre and Dance and UCM Music present the new musical “The Prom.” Based on the movel by Bob Martin, book and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and music by Matthew Sklar, the show runs during two weekends at the Highlander Theatre with curtain times at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday Nov 11-12 and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-19. A matinee is planned for and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

He takes the stage for this free, public event at 7:30 p.m. in Elliott Student Union 240, as part of the Ninth Annual Trading Moon Native American Arts Festival.

The public is invited to attend this free event co-sponsored by the UCM Department of Music and the UCM Speaker Series.

(Survival House) while enjoying music presented by the University of Central Missouri Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Warrensburg Community Band during the fourth annual UCM First Lady’s Holiday Charity Concert. The event takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Hendricks Hall.
