A high-energy performance by the University of Central Missouri’s Drumline is always a great crowd pleaser at the annual Get the Red Out celebration. The group returns to the event Sept. 8.

WARRENSBURG, MO – A free family-fun event that annually brings thousands of people to the University of Central Missouri campus, UCM and the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 2022 Get the Red Out street fair 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

Situated on Holden Street, between South and Clark streets, Get the Red Out takes place prior to the Mules football team’s first home game of the year. It is an opportunity for the public to enjoy an afternoon that includes games for children, food trucks, dozens of organizations and vendors, hoop shooting with the Mules and Jennies basketball players, a performance by the UCM Drumline, and special appearances by Mo the Mule and the university’s live mule mascot.

After the street fair, Audrey J. Walton Stadium provides the setting for football fans to show their university spirit by cheering on the Mules as they battle the Washburn University Ichabods at 7 p.m. This event is also Military Appreciation night at the stadium, so those attending will be able to pay homage to the men and women who serve this country. For information about tickets to this game, check out ucmathletics.com.

Get the Red Out is open to businesses, profit/non-profit organizations, student organizations, and others who would like to share information about their business, product, organization or project. It is a great way to get information into the hands of students, faculty, staff and community members. Vendor registration is now open, and the booth registration form can be found at ucmo.edu/gtro. Anyone who has questions prior to the day of the event should please contact the Office of Integrated Marketing and Communications at 660-543-4640 or email jtart@ucmo.edu.
