Moral Movement Architect Rev. Dr. William Barber II to Speak at UCM

As part of its ongoing effort to bring guest speakers to campus to discuss significant social and economic issues related to justice, health, wellness, and community strength, the University of Central Missouri will present the program, “Rev. Dr. William Barber II, We are Called to Be a Movement.” This free public presentation sponsored by UCM’s Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity is open to all interested individuals and will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in Hendricks Hall, located in the Administration Building. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Four UCM Students Awarded MLK Freedom Scholarships

A highlight to a program that included artistic expression in the form of dance, live drawing, music and a shared presentation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, four University of Central Missouri students were honored with scholarships named for the famous civil rights leader and humanitarian. UCM Presentation Features Harvard Professor and Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author Annette Gordon-Reed Sept. 22

The University of Central Missouri is excited to begin the fall 2022-2023 academic year with a presentation by a guest speaker who will inspire her audience and contribute to understanding on topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion. An Evening with Annette-Gordon Reed, giving the university community and guests an opportunity to hear, see and interact with the nationally known Harvard University educator, historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in Hendricks Hall. The event is free and the public is invited.
