WARRENSBURG, MO – The Central Missouri Police Academy at the University of Central
Missouri will host an Open House at the academy, located at 200 Ming Street in Warrensburg,
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The public is invited to meet the academy staff and learn more about the programs
offered by the academy. Open house guests may view displays, test their skills with
interactive activities, and learn more about crime scene investigation in the Crime
Scene Room. Refreshments will be provided.
The Central Missouri Police Academy and Institute for Public Safety, a division of
the Missouri Safety Center at UCM, is a basic law enforcement academy and full-service
continuing education provider for those interested in pursuing or furthering a career
in public safety, including law enforcement, fire, emergency medical service and homeland
security personnel.
The CMPA is approved by the Missouri POST Commission to provide the basic peace officer
training. Formerly known as the National Police Institute, the CMPA is a 600+-hour
basic academy. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify through the
Dama Cooper Police Academy Scholarship, UCM Student Financial Services, Workforce
Development and UCM's Military and Veteran Success Center. College credit also is
available.
