WARRENSBURG, MO – The University of Central Missouri’s 2015 Homecoming King and Queen
were crowned during the Saturday, Oct. 24 celebration, “Where Your Story Began.”
Kimberly Lake, a senior accounting major from Columbia, and Jeremy Hale, a senior
digital media production major from Waynesville, were crowned Homecoming King and
Queen during the Homecoming football game at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
UCM students who participated in the annual Homecoming Day of Service, one of UCM’s
Homecoming traditions, provided more than 690 hours of community service for area
agencies. Donors provided 772 units of blood during the Homecoming blood drive and
registered 42 bone marrow donors, and more than 4,000 food items were collected and
donated to the Warrensburg Food Center, Survival Adult Abuse Center and the UCM Campus
Cupboard during the Donation Creation competition.
UCM also announced the results of the Homecoming competitions. Taking first place
in the campus floats category in the Homecoming parade was the Alpha Sigma Alpha/Lambda
Chi Alpha entry, with Alpha Tau Omega/Mulekickers receiving second, Alpha Kappa Lambda/Alpha
Omicron Pi, third; and Delta Chi/Alpha Phi, fourth. In the community float category,
the Early Childhood Opportunity Center took first place; Twister Sports claimed second
place; Center Stage Dance Academy received third, and Big Brother and Big Sisters
placed fourth.
First place in the competitive spirit window competition went to Sigma Sigma Sigma/Sigma
Tau Gamma; second went to Alpha Sigma Alpha/Lambda Chi Alpha; third to Delta Sigma
Pi/Phi Sigma Kappa, and fourth to Alpha Kappa Lambda/Alpha Omicron Pi. In the non-competitive
category, first place went to Catholic Campus Ministries; second place to THRIVE/United
Student Housing Association; third to the Fashion Business Association; and fourth
to the International Student Organization.
Sigma Sigma Sigma/Sigma Tau Gamma claimed first placed in the Donation Creation competition.
Delta Sigma Pi/ Phi Sigma Kappa received second; Sigma Pi/Delta Zeta, third; and Alpha
Tau Omega, fourth.
Sigma Tau Gamma placed first in the competitive division of the bowling tournament,
with Sigma Pi/Delta Zeta receiving second; Alpha Sigma Alpha/Lambda Chi Alpha, third,
and Aviation Students Association/Ladies Inspiring Versatility, fourth. In the non-competitive
bowling competition, Central Missouri Association of Collegiate Scholars took first;
UCM Players took second; Fashion Business Association, third; and the THRIVE, fourth.
Alpha Sigma Alpha/Lambda Chi Alpha took first place in the Blood Drive competition,
with Alpha Omicron Pi/Alpha Kappa Lambda placing second; Sigma Sigma Sigma/Sigma Tau
Gamma, third; and Delta Zeta and Sigma Pi, fourth.
In the marching band competition in the Homecoming Parade, Warrensburg Middle School
placed first in the Middle School category.
In the 1A category, Leeton High School placed first; Green Ridge High School placed
second, and Bunceton High School placed third.
In the 2A category, Crest Ridge High School placed first; Windsor High School, second;
and Archie High School, third.
In the 3A category, Eldon High School placed first; Holden High School, second; and
Knob Noster High School, third.
In 4A competition, Warrensburg High School placed claimed first place.
