WARRENSBURG, MO - Celebrate Earth Day 2016 with Campus Christian House as it hosts
the annual “Something to Eat” food drive at the University of Central Missouri Monday,
April 18 through Friday, April 22.
Volunteer and join the mission to end world hunger while giving back to our community.
"Something to Eat" will be available each day at the tent outside the Elliott Student
Union from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or during the lunch hour in the Fitz Diner or Westside
Market. For $1.50 you can purchased a package of food that will feed six people in
countries around the world. Your contribution will become a personal effort as you
package the food yourself, purchasing as many packages as you want.
Invite your family, friends, classmates, business or organization to join you. Members
of the surrounding community also are invited to participate.
More than 1,000 lives were saved last year thanks to local donors Sodexo and UCM students,
faculty and staff. In the past, meals have been sent to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua,
Guatemala, the Philippines and even in the United States through Harvesters. UCM Campus
Christian House’s annual “Something to Eat” has returned with a goal of 5,000 packages
and an increased focus on community involvement. Join local church members, community
leaders and classmates to impact the world together.
Individuals or groups unable to participate during the scheduled times available sign
up for an alternative time slot at ucmo.edu/somethingtoeat. For more information about
