WARRENSBURG, MO - The Performing Arts Series and the Department of Music at the University
of Central Missouri present internationally renowned harpist Bridget Kibbey in Concert
at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Hart Recital Hall.
Recognized for her artistry and virtuosity, Kibbey is a champion for expanding the
scope and platform of the harp. She is a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher
Career Grant, the Classical Recording Foundation’s Young Artist Award, a winner of
Concert Artist Guild’s International Competition, Astral Artist Auditions, and is
the only harpist to win a position with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s
Chamber Music Society II.
Kibbey tours internationally as concerto soloist, recitalist, and collaborator with
some of today’s most compelling artists, including Placido Domingo, The Knights, The
National, Dawn Upshaw and Gustavo Santaollala. Her solo performances have been broadcast
on NPR’s Performance Today, on New York’s WQXR and Q2 Radio, WNYC’s Soundcheck, WETA’s
Front Row Washington, WRTI’s Crossover, and A&E’s Breakfast with the Arts. Kibbey’s
debut album, Love Has Come Again, was named one of the Top 10 Releases by Time Out

Kibbey’s UCM concert concludes a three-day residency at UCM, where she will conduct
masterclasses, an elementary school concert and a seminar titled Making a Life in
the Arts, which is free and open to the public.
