WARRENSBURG, MO – The University of Central Missouri will welcome more than 750 young
women from across Missouri to campus June 25-July 1 as they experience democracy in
action as citizens of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State
The tentative schedule of speakers for the week-long events includes U.S. Sen. Roy
Blunt, who will address the delegates at 10:45 a.m. Monday morning. Missouri Auditor
Nicole Galloway will address the group at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.
U. S. Senator Claire McCaskill will speak at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and Missouri Governor
Eric Greitens will address the group at 7:30 p.m. that evening. On Wednesday, speakers
to be announced also will speak at 10:30 a.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Missouri First Lady Sheena Greitens will to address delegates at 10:45 a.m. Thursday,
and retired U.S. Army Col. Michelle Hovland, Missouri National Guard, will speak at
9:30 a.m. Friday.
Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Missouri, the program provides
hands-on experience in government and leadership through participation in a mock state
government.
