WARRENSBURG, MO – Drew Griffin has been named the Assistant Vice Provost for Admissions
and Financial Aid at the University of Central Missouri, effective Aug.31. This new
position will provide strategic guidance, vision and leadership to both the Office
of Undergraduate Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid.
With more than 14 years of experience in enrollment management, Griffin joins UCM
from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis (UMSL), where he has been the Director
of Admissions the last four years. In this role, he has planned and implemented recruitment
strategies to attract and enroll a qualified, diverse student body and serve as the
leader of his recruitment team. Before moving in to the director position, Griffin
began his career as a transfer coordinator for UMSL for one year before being quickly
moved into the Associate Director for Recruitment role for nine years.
In addition to his excellent career path, Griffin's previous role as president of
the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC) has allowed him
to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with high school counselors
throughout Missouri and with enrollment management professionals regionally.
“We are very excited that Mr. Griffin has accepted the position. His experience and
passion make him a perfect fit not only to advance our admissions efforts, but also
to help ensure our students graduate on time with less debt,” said Karen Goos, interim
vice provost for enrollment management.
After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree
in mass communication and public relations, Griffin earned a master’s degree in higher
education/student affairs from Indiana University. He is currently pursuing his doctorate
in higher educational administration at UMSL.
