WARRENSBURG, MO – The UCM School of Visual and Performing Arts will present the Cheng-Chow
Piano Trio in concert at 7 p.m. March 12 in Hart Recital Hall.
The ensemble of three concert pianists will perform works for two pianos, using four
and six hands at a time. Music by Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Maurice Ravel,
Claude Debussy and George Gershwin will come to life in entertaining arrangements
that are guaranteed to entertain all ages.
Alvin and Alan Chow are identical twin brothers, and Angela Cheng is the spouse of
Alvin Chow. All three have been gold medal laureates at numerous international piano
competitions and have extensive performing careers that regularly see them performing
in Asia, Europe and the U.S. All three studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School
of Music and the Juilliard School; the Chow brothers also studied at the University
of Maryland with Nelita True, brother of UCM Emeritus faculty Wesley True.
Alvin Chow and Angela Cheng are on the faculty of the Oberlin Conservatory and Alan
Chow has recently joined the faculty of the Eastman School of Music after having served
on the faculty at Northwestern University.
