WARRENSBURG, MO – For the second consecutive year, Warrensburg area youth have an
opportunity to participate in the c, providing a number of special fun and educational
programs at the University of Central Missouri geared specifically to students currently
in grades one through five during the 2018-2019 school year.
Junior Mule Experience is a hands-on collegiate experience coordinated by the Office of Meeting and Conference
Services. Signup is available now for participation in the events 1-5 p.m. June 24-27
at UCM.
According to event coordinator Kimberly Courtwright, this is an exciting opportunity
for students to experience UCM while also exploring many topics of interest.
In the course, “Where does your food come from,” students will learn about plant and
animal food production systems. They will study basic methods of food production including
growing fruits and vegetables, as well as farm and livestock production. The course
helps students understand how farmers provide for the community.
“The Stories of the Constellations” teaches students about the various constellations,
stars, the moon’s craters and seas, the planets and their moons, and stories behind
the names.
Through the course “Making Books and Comics,” students will learn how to make paper,
assemble and bind books, print and share images, and write and illustrate a story
or comic book.
Getty messy is fun and educational for students enrolled in Mini Mixers, a kitchen
adventure that is part of the “Out of the Oven Baking” class. Participants have a
hands-on opportunity to learn the basic principles of dough and batter, make homemade
break, cookies, pizza and more.
Basic programming and robotic science come together for students in the “Robot Wranglers”
program. Other children have an opportunity to learn more about theatre and create
a play that will be shared at the end of the Junior Mules Experience camp in the “Broadway
Basics” course.
The cost for participation in the Junior Mule Experience is $79 per child. To learn
