The University of Central Missouri will offer two popular information technology courses
this spring. The eight-week courses, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+, include
face-to-face instruction as well as online lessons in an instructor-led environment.
CompTIA Network+ will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, March 26 through May 14, at the Missouri Innovation
Campus in Lee’s Summit. Cost is $2,449 including text and exam fees.
CompTIA Security+ will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, March 25 through May 13, also at the
Missouri Innovation Campus. Cost is $2,499 and includes the text and certification
exam.
The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts that computer security and related computer-support
specialities will be among the fastest growing careers through 2026. The CompTIA Security+
and CompTIA Network+ certificates are globally recognized as the certifications trusted
to validate foundational, IT security knowledge and skills.
The two UCM hybrid courses include a mix of face-to-face classes as well as flexible
online instruction with students well-prepared to take the industry-recognized certifications.
The price for each course covers both the text and certificate exam fees.
The University of Central Missouri’s Workforce Development and Professional Education offers a variety of career certificate programs, tailored to fit the schedule of
busy adults. Programs are offered in high-demand areas such as healthcare, technology,
business and manufacturing. Some courses can be completed in as little as six weeks
with both face-to-face and online classes.
Financial aid is available to qualifying adults. UCM partners with the Full Employment
Council to offer monthly open house events to help individuals learn if they are eligible for the debt-free assistance. Open
houses are scheduled from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month at the
Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee’s Summit.
