Join the University of Central Missouri's MO the Mule mascot in helping to save lives
through the gift of blood.
WARRENSBURG, MO – While celebrating Homecoming Week at the University of Central Missouri,
campus members and other interested individuals can celebrate the gift of life by
donating blood to the Community Blood Center. Featuring Kansas City Chiefs t-shirt giveaways and opportunities to win prizes,
the UCM Homecoming Blood Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday,
Oct. 18-19 at the ballroom of the Elliott Student Union.
With the theme, “Give Mo’, Give Blood,” individuals are encouraged to register in
advance by going to savealifenow.org. The website allows donors to search by zip code (64093) or by group name (University
of Central Missouri) for the schedule, which enables them to reserve a time for their
donation. Fliers and posters also have been distributed on campus that offer a QR
code that can be scanned to make an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted depending
on the volume of participation, but pre-registration is encouraged and preferred to
avoid waiting in line.
All registered participants will receive a free Chiefs t-shirt, and will be entered
into a drawing that includes prizes such as Chiefs game tickets and two pizza/bowling
parties for six at the UCM Bowling Center.
Face coverings/masks are required to be worn by all individuals who are participating
in the blood drive. This is regardless of vaccination status.
Individuals who have questions are welcome to contact Kristie Brinkley, assistant
director of volunteer services and volunteer programs, at 660-543-4007 or kbrinkley@ucmo.edu. For terms and conditions related to prizes, visit savealifenow.org/UCMSweepstakes.
