Faculty Senate (FS) committees report directly to the Faculty Senate and serve a University-wide function. FS Committee Chairs must be faculty members and not hold any administrative title or duties. Although FS Committees often include administrators, they are most often ex-officio, non-voting members. On most FS committees, there is a broad representation of faculty by college/unit, and the majority of committee members are faculty. Faculty Senate oversees the charges and membership of FS Committees.
University/Administrative (UA) committees report directly to an administrative unit and serve a university-wide function. UA Committee Chairs may be faculty or administrators. Although most UA Committees include faculty representation across all colleges, they are not required to do so. Faculty Senate collects the charges and maintains membership lists for UA Committees.
