Students with Disabilities

Every undergraduate or graduate student who has been admitted to the University of Central Missouri is eligible to be considered for financial assistance.

However, special academic and other support services are available, if needed, to students with disabilities through the UCM Office of Accessibility Services. In addition, personnel in the Office of Student Financial Services are pleased to help students with any aspect of applying for and receiving financial aid.

Students who are blind or visually-impaired may acquire overview information about federal financial aid opportunities by listening to the on-line Student Aid Audio Guide. This guide, in the form of a simulated telephone conversation, provides details about the federal grant, loan, and part-time employment programs and includes information about websites that students can access for more financial aid information. A CD of this guide may also be ordered by calling 1-800-433-3243.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the FAFSA-on-the Web worksheet, Funding Education Beyond High School (the Guide to Federal Student Aid) and Repaying your Student Loans, are all available on-line through the use of a screen reader. In addition, braille versions of these publications may be obtained by calling 800-433-3243.

Visually impaired students may apply for scholarship assistance through the National Federation of the Blind. Details are available by clicking here or by calling (404) 371-1000.
