Unique learning opportunities for Business Management majors
Learning from experienced leaders in the classroom is an important aspect of the University
of Central Missouri’s Management bachelor’s degree program. We also believe it’s incredibly
important to take what you’ve learned and apply it in the field.
Our Business Management major gives you several ways to put opportunity in action.
- Integrative Business Experience (IBE): All Business Management majors take part in IBE during their junior year. IBE is
a block of four courses that provide firsthand knowledge and experience related to
the interconnectedness of business functions. Team up with fellow students in UCM’s
Management program to build a business plan, get capital through a loan proposal,
facilitate a sales plan, generate revenue, pay off your loan and donate profits to
a nonprofit. Throughout the semester, learn specific course content in management,
marketing and finance and apply that knowledge to your team’s business.
- Internships: As a senior, all students in our Business Management bachelor’s degree program are
strongly encouraged to pursue an internship locally or just 45 minutes away in Kansas
City. Our internship office finds you the right opportunity to prepare for a career in management. Earn college
credit, apply classroom learning, gain valuable work experience and network and connect
with leaders in the field.
- Study Abroad: Take your learning to a global level and gain a new perspective by studying abroad.
Immerse yourself in a new culture while taking Management courses for college credit.
UCM offers study abroad scholarships and grants, which can offset some of your travel
expenses.
