Alex Klang, political science major
My freshman year two of my friends and I made our own t-shirts to wear to the homecoming football game. It was the best moment to start my college career. Now to end my college career, I decided to walk in the homecoming parade for College Democrats. It was cold as could be at about 37 degrees. I was wearing many layers of clothes but it was a great three mile walk. It was great to end the day with the Mules winning the football game.
I’ve been to Office of Career Services more than I can account for. The development of my resume went from nothing to a visible document after going to see those individuals. By going to various expos and fairs I’ve been able to broaden my horizons and become more knowledgeable of what is to be expected in the workplace.
I’m currently the Treasurer of Students for Political Action, College Democrats and Model United Nations. As an officer of these organizations, I strive to educate and engage fellow members on political issues and community awareness while keeping track of current monies. I’m also a member of the honor fraternity Phi Sigma Alpha.
Love of politics
Interactions with professors have been the most influential for me because they’ve helped me develop my critical thinking and problem solving skills. I can recall multiple times when I’ve had questions about numerous political topics, and each and every one of our professors in the department has been able to answer my questions. Interactions with professors have taught me how to think on my own and these individuals are the ones who have truly brought the love of politics out of me.
