Undergraduate Programs

 

Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education

Agriculture Teacher Education Option (E328)

Students combine an interest in agriculture with the aspect of teaching and helping prepare the next generation is this important field.

 

Business Teacher Education Option (E270)

The BTE program seeks to prepare outstanding business teachers who are caring professionals, knowledgeable of business disciplines, and skilled with emerging technologies.

 

Engineering & Technology Teacher Education Option (E282)

Our ETTE program prepares students to teach pre-engineering and career exploration as well as traditional areas of communication, construction, manufacturing, and transportation in a laboratory setting using modern technological tools and methods. 

 

Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education Option (E572)

The FCSE program is designed to prepare students to be professional educators in human development, family studies, nutrition, food preparation, consumerism, and fashion merchandising.

 

Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education

Our BS in Occupational Education is the only statewide approved undergraduate degree designed to make the transition from industry into education. This program is works with prior industry experience and formal education.

 

 

Graduate Programs

 

Master of Science in Career and Technical Education Leadership

The MS in CTE offers three options to meet the needs of career and technical education stakeholders: teaching leadership, administrative leadership, and industry training leadership.

 

Education Specialist Degree in Human Services / Technology and Occupational Education

The EdS provides research and leadership experiences through courses and research opportunities tailored to the candidate’s career goals and interests. This advanced degree also provides articulation opportunities for professionals considering additional educational coursework above the EdS level.

 

 

Certificate Programs

 

Undergraduate Certificate in CTE

This 18 credit hour certificate program is designed to guide new CTE teachers, particularly Skilled Technical Sciences and Health Sciences content area professionals, in completing the DESE required program of study for CTE educators. Courses are aligned with Missouri DESE certification requirements. This certificate can also serve as a credential for business and industry trainers. Additionally, courses completed for this certificate can be applied toward the completion of UCM’s Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education.

 

Graduate Certificate in CTE Administration Leadership

The CTE Leader with a Graduate Certificate in CTE Administration Leadership will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to identify, develop, practice, and reflect upon leadership, technical, and professionalism skills in CTE, and debate historical and current issues, trends, and topics in CTE. Students will evaluate existing and develop new curriculum components consistent with historical and emerging curriculum design practices and theory. Students will work to become effective CTE liaisons for local education and industry professionals, customers, and society in general.
