Business Teacher Education Program

Business Teacher Education
The UCM Business Teacher Education program seeks to prepare outstanding business teachers who are caring professionals, knowledgeable of business disciplines, and skilled with emerging technologies.

Technology Education

Engineering & Technology Teacher Education
Our Engineering & Technology Teacher Education program prepares students to teach pre-engineering and career exploration as well as traditional areas of communication, construction, manufacturing, and transportation.  Students successfully completing specific requirements will be nationally certificated to teach Project Lead the Way® and Engineering by Design™ courses.  Project and problem-based learning is emphasized to enhance hands-on, investigative, and design-build approaches to teaching in a laboratory setting using modern technological tools and methods. 


Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education
This program is designed to prepare students to be professional educators of Family Consumer Sciences. Students will complete a professional education block of courses, as well as content specific courses in human development, family studies, nutrition, food preparation, consumerism, and fashion merchandising. The program offers the opportunity to earn a Birth-12th grade teaching certificate in Vocational Family and Consumer Sciences. 

Occupational Education

Occupational Education
Our Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education is the only statewide approved undergraduate degree designed to make the transition from industry into education. This program is works with prior industry experience and formal education, regardless of whether that experience is in automotive technology, computer networking, dental hygiene, or many other fields. Teacher education coursework is a key element of this program and students learn the fundamentals of teaching, including curriculum development, assessment, and classroom management.

Graduate Studies

Graduate Studies in Career and Technology Education
This program is designed to strengthen the preparation of administrators and educators in 1) career education (agriculture education, business education, family consumer sciences education, health sciences education, marketing education, technology education, and trade and industrial education) in middle schools, high schools, career centers, or community colleges; or 2) technical subjects in industry.
