Watching his students progress from the classroom to successful working professionals provided Dr. Leslie C. Grow with a great source of satisfaction during the past 29 years. He has retired as professor emeritus of accounting.
Dr. Grow joined the Department of Accounting in 1970 after teaching for six years at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington. With the exception of a one-year leave in 1975, he never left the university.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, and a Master of Arts in Business Administration degree from Central. He also studied at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, where he completed a doctorate in education.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Grow stayed busy through committee work and other activities that benefited the university and its students. He was a member of the Faculty Senate, Curriculum Committee and Strategic Planning Council. He also served on the University Budget and Planning Committee.
Outside his campus responsibilities, Dr. Grow maintained close contact with others in his field through participation in professional organizations such as the Missouri Association of Accounting Educators and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Dr. Grow and his wife, Linda, are the parents of one daughter, Lynette Dixon.
