Study Shows Public Trusts PBS-Member Stations, Values Impact on Children

From its locally produced programs to engagement with K-12 students and educators across the region, KMOS shares with other PBS-member stations in a #1 rating in public trust among nationally known institutions. The same study scored PBS above the public courts of law, in second place for public trust, touted PBS’s positive impact on the education of the nation’s children, and also confirmed that people consider PBS “an excellent use of tax dollars by the American public.”

UCM Alumni Foundation Approves $1.3 Million to Support Student Success

For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Central Missouri Foundation has increased the payout from its endowments in support of students and academic programs. The Foundation Board of Directors authorized a payout of $1.3 million for fiscal year 2017, which is a 9.72-percent increase from FY16 and nearly triple the payout since FY 12.

Board Sets FY17 Academic, General Fees, Approves Academic Programs

In addition to setting instructional and general education fees at the current level for the 2016-2017 academic year, pending legislative approval of the Missouri Governor’s proposed increase in state appropriations for higher education, the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors approved six new academic programs and three academic program revision requests when it met in plenary session Feb. 12.
