The University of Central Missouri Ovation Performance Series presents violinist Catherine French and pianist Nina Ferrigno in a free, public recital at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9 in Hart Recital Hall, Utt Music Building The program, “Beethoven at 250: Sonatas for Violin and Piano” commemorates the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Bringing children and the authors and illustrators of their favorite books together, the University of Central Missouri’s annual Children’s Literature Festival is March 15-17 on campus. The event, which is in its 52nd year, features 28 nationally-acclaimed authors and illustrators, 17 of whom will be new to the festival in 2020.

An evening of comedy awaits those attending the University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance presentation of William Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” March 6-8. With the university renovating the James L. Highlander Theatre, this play will be performed at Warrensburg High School at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7; and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8.

Author, Radio Host Jerald Payne to Lead Mental Health Discussion at UCM for Black History Month

In recognition of Black History Month, the University of Central Missouri Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity will host speaker Jerald Payne, an author, therapist, social worker, and co-host on the radio show Finally Free with Delores Jones, for a presentation titled "Mental Health in the Black Community" on Monday, Feb. 24 in the Elliott Student Union ballroom. All students, faculty, staff and the general public are welcome to attend.

Thanks to a student-Main Street partnership, planning is currently underway for what is tentatively coined “Snapshots of the ‘Burg.”
